Privacy Policy

The Student’s Research Companion is a monograph by Omid Aschari and Benjamin Berghaus presenting fifty useful mindsets when approaching, beginning, conducting, completing, and continuing after a final academic project. It includes the voices of ten academic mentors from around the world and a range of disciplines.

This website is the book’s companion website. This privacy policy will explain how we use the personal data we collect from you when you use our website.

What data do we collect?

This website collects the following data: If you do not opt out via the notification bar, the server may provide your client with a cookie that helps us understand how many people visit our site and from which country. If you send us an email through the contact form, we will receive all information in that email. If you choose to comment on a post, we will receive your post and author / contact data you enter.

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide us with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you leave a comment, send us an email, and/or visit and do not decline a cookie. We may also receive your data indirectly through the Squarespace analytics feature for the sake of understanding how many people visit our website and from which country.

How will we use your data?

If you choose to comment, we collect your data so that we can offer a comment function, be reachable to you through email, and understand how many people visit our website and from which country. We will not share your data with anyone so that they may offer you their products and services. We will only share your comment if you post to our website. You cannot order anything through our website, thus there are no processes in that regard.

How do we store your data?

We securely store your data on Squarespace servers. We will keep your comments and emails indefinitely or as long as you request. If you request deletion, we will delete your data.

Marketing

We will neither send you information about products and services of ours that we think you might like, nor do we enable any other organisations to do so.

What are your data protection rights?

We would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

  • The right to access – You have the right to request us for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
